Are Ready for your close up? Let's make a great first impression.
These cameras see everything! Which is fantastic - The whole point of the 3D Virtual Tours is to be able to capture as much detail for the viewer, but for you it means some previous preparation is required. Preparing your property or premises for its Virtual Tour will increase the quality of the tour and make sure that you make a great first impression.
Not all properties and premises are the same, so your preparation may vary, but here are a few key things to consider prior to my arrival on site, to get it to the condition that you want it to be captured. It will ensure that the capture of your premises/property goes as smoothly and as efficiently as possible and the results create the best first impression/impact.
A reminder here that unlike regular photography, there is no ability to edit the visuals of the 3D virtual tour, so your space needs to be in the condition that you want it to be seen.
Declutter & Tidy
Anything that can distract the eye of the viewer from the important elements of your tour need to be tidied away. Less is more. Clear shelves, tables and desks and worktops of any essential appliances, tidy away loose cables and put toilet seats down. If you are selling a property, reduce the amount of your personal belongings to help buyers imagine the place as their own.
Make it sparkle
Give everything a thorough dust and clean. Floors, windows & shower screens (inside and out), blinds, worktops, switches, beams, stainless steel, taps and soft furnishings.
Lighting
Check all lightbulbs are working and consistent in colour. Turn on all lights, including cooker lights, lamps and under-counter lighting.
Staging
When staging your premises, decorate as you want to make it the most visually appealing and unless for a specific purpose, avoid anything that will date your tour, such as Christmas Trees or anything with a date on it. Check that pictures, mirrors, lampshades and blinds are all level. Plump pillows and straighten bed linen.
Exterior
As with the interiors, make it look the best you can and remove vehicles or obstructions, such as bins or tools and clear pathways of debris if needed.
Sensitive & Personal Information
Remove sensitive information or anything that can personally identify you or anyone else, such as photographs, calendars, bank cards and anything with personal information
Take a Walk Through
Take time to walk through yourself beforehand to take a final look. Slowly walk through hallways looking around you as you go and in each room you go into, turn around in a full circle slowly. If anything looks out of place, then adjust or remove it.
Whilst the tour is being created
Anything that can obstruct the view of the person viewing the tour can impact on their experience. Whilst the tour is being captured, please keep the area free of people and vehicles, unless specifically included in the tour.
