Congratulations on your engagement. These are exciting times as you plan for your special day.
So, as a photographer, what can I offer you? When the last thank you card has been sent you can finally relax after what may well have been a bit of a whirlwind year (or possibly more!). Many couples say that their wedding day was “a bit of a blur”; that’s hardly surprising given that there are so many things packed into one day.
Weddings encompass everything I love to photograph and I am honoured to be part of and capture the most important day in many peoples lives. My style of photography is a blend ofdocumentary, artistic and classic stylescarried out in arelaxed and informalmanner, so that you and your guests are relaxed and I can focus on providing you withnatural timeless imagesthat will make you feel like you haven’t missed a thing and that you will look back on in years to come with fond memories.
I photograph weddings predominantly in acandid and spontaneousmanner keeping true to the events of your day and focusing on theemotions, connections and detailswhilst using a creative viewpoint and always on the look out for amazing landscapes and stunning natural light. I understand that you or your guests may be a little camera shy, but equally that you may not want family members or friends missing from your album, so in our preparations, we will work out what you would like from your photography and identify any key images and specific groups photographs that you would like to include. Your wedding is not a photo shoot and you should be spending as much of it enjoying the company of your guests, so these won’t take long but they will befunand then you can all go back to the real party.
At some point during your day, I like to have a little time with just the two of you as newlyweds for arelaxed and natural portrait session. I won't keep you from your guests, but it does guarantee you some quality time together and just take a breath (even if it is just 15 minutes) - after all, you have just got married.
The rest of my time will be spent observing the day as it unfolds. As your two families and sets of friends meet and become one, I will be mingling andcapturing the essence of your day - from the 'characters' and the 'camera-shy', the looks, love and laughter, the food, the humour, the pets and the new relationships being forged, to the venue, details that you may well have spent months planning and those moments that you will miss as you can't be everywhere. I'd like to think of myself as a stealthy invisible photographer, but in reality I tend to get in the thick of things, getting up close as I hunt for all those "little things" that come together to make your day unique.
I will be a calming influenceand someone to laugh with whilst you are getting ready, I'll help to fix those button holes and Windsor knots at the last minute and I'll have tissues on hand for when things get a bit emotional.
So your big day is all planned, now’s the time for you to relax and enjoy the company of your nearest and dearest and the fruits of all your efforts in planning this wonderful celebration.
"Polly, What can we say, wow you are super talented how you managed to capture all you did I have no idea. You were discreet yet managed to capture some of the most personal moments I thought I would never get to see. This is exactly what we wanted - magnificent colours and people relaxing and having fun. We love them all. Your professionalism and friendliness (which was still being talked about even today) was important to me as I hate the camera and contemplated not having a photographer! Thank you so much we could not have asked for better." Sarah & Steve
